Riyadh Metro Project

Riyadh Metro Project was constructed by a consortium of an International and local companies including Bechtel, SIEMENS and Alstom. It is a significant public transportation project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was intended to improve the public transportation infrastructure of Riyadh, reduce traffic congestion, and provide more sustainable travel options. The project involved the construction of six metro lines, covering a total distance of 176 kilometres, with 85 stations.
The metro system consists of three main lines, including Line 1 (Blue Line), Line 2 (Green Line), and Line 3 (Red Line), and three smaller lines, including Line 4 (Orange Line), Line 5 (Yellow Line), and Line 6 (Purple Line).
The project also includes constructing several underground and elevated stations, parking facilities, and maintenance depots. The entire project was developed and managed by the Riyadh Development Authority, with funding from the Saudi government.

SVIZONA’s scope was commissioning of SIEMENS automation system of Cummin’s supplied back-up power generation.
